Sangre Strategies LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Specchec platform at specchec.com ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our Service. By using Specchec, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address, full name, company name, and phone number. You provide this information voluntarily during registration and account setup.
Payment Information: Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do NOT store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
Uploaded Documents: You upload construction specification PDFs, plans, and addenda for processing. These documents are transmitted to our servers and to third-party AI services for extraction. See Section 4 for how we handle these documents.
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, including: extraction count, processing times, timestamps, file sizes, IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. This data helps us improve the Service and diagnose issues.
Cookies: We use essential session cookies to maintain your login state. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
We use the information we collect to: (a) provide and operate the Service; (b) process your document extractions; (c) manage your account and subscription; (d) process payments through Stripe; (e) communicate with you about your account, Service updates, and support requests; (f) monitor and improve the Service's performance and reliability; (g) detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats; (h) comply with legal obligations.
We do NOT use your information to: (a) sell or rent your personal data to third parties; (b) send unsolicited marketing emails (unless you have opted in); (c) train AI models on your uploaded documents; (d) share your data with advertisers.
We use the following third-party services to operate Specchec:
Anthropic (Claude API): Your uploaded document text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-powered extraction. Anthropic's API terms state that API inputs and outputs are NOT used for model training. Anthropic processes data in accordance with their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy. Data is transmitted securely via encrypted HTTPS connections.
Stripe: Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects and processes payment information directly. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Render: Our application and database are hosted on Render.com. Render provides the server infrastructure where your account data and extraction reports are stored. See Render's privacy policy at render.com/privacy.
We do not share your personal information with any other third parties except as required by law.
Upload and Processing: When you upload a PDF, it is saved temporarily on our server, processed for text extraction, and the text is sent to the AI API for analysis. The AI returns structured data which we compile into your extraction report.
Temporary Storage: Uploaded PDF files are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of extraction completion. We do not retain copies of your original specification documents.
Report Storage: Your extraction reports (the generated PDF output) and associated metadata are stored on our servers for as long as your account is active, so you can re-download them from your dashboard.
No AI Training: Your uploaded documents and extraction results are NOT used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models. The Anthropic API we use has a zero-data-retention policy for API usage — your document content is not stored by Anthropic after processing.
Security Measures: We implement commercially reasonable security measures including: encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), secure password hashing (bcrypt), access controls, and secure server hosting. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Active Accounts: We retain your account data and extraction reports for as long as your account is active.
Cancelled Accounts: After subscription cancellation, your account data and reports remain accessible until you request deletion. We may retain certain data for up to 12 months after cancellation for legal, tax, or dispute resolution purposes.
Account Deletion: You may request complete account deletion by emailing admin@specchec.com. Upon deletion, all personal data, extraction reports, and associated records will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Uploaded Documents: Original uploaded PDFs are deleted within 24 hours of processing, regardless of account status.

Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: You may update your account information at any time through your account settings.
